Prices of essentials unchanged

Staff Correspondent, Dhaka, 10 January, 2020: The price of essential commodities remained almost unchanged for the secondary consecutive week within the city markets.

The traders said, following an upward trend, the costs fell partially fortnight back, but not up to the expected level.

Vegetables and fish register an upward trend within the city markets, traders said.

At the retail level, prices of coarse rice were being sold between TK 35 and 38 per kg while the finer rice were bring sold between TK 40 and 44 per kg within the city market last week.

At wholesale level, BRRI was being sold between TK 480 and 500 per maund, Pari TK 520 and 500, Nazirshail was being sold between TK 630 per maund and Minicate was being sold between TK 820 and 860 within the city markets last week.

In any case, the brokers trusted that the value would contract during a couple of days.
