Journey By Boat
A journey by boat is easy and it brings us closer
to the natural beauty. So a journey by boat is always a pleasant one.
We had nothing to do after the annual examination.
Then I proposed to a few of my friends to pay a visit to my sister’s house.
They all readily accepted. My sister’s house was by a river and we decided to
go there by boat.
According to proposal, necessary arrangements were
made. A nice looking boat was hired. It was settled that we should take lunch
in the boat. So we took necessary food and food materials with us. It was also
settled that we should start early in the morning. On the fixed day the boatman
came with one of helpers. It was morning of the winter. So weather was very
fresh. We started our journey at 10:00 a.m. The boat was going along the river.
It was bright day. The boat began to speed on in
favour of the wind. The surrounding sights were very charming and the view was
pleasing. Many of the boats were on sails. At times motor launches sped on and
the waves dashed against the boat. The boat tossed. We saw some fishermen were
fishing. The meadows and houses on either bank fascinated our eyes. Village
boys were seen playing here and there and shy village women were taking water.
We halted at market on the river. We bought
sweetmeat. We again launched our boat. It was evening. The sun seemed to be
sinking into the water and we were charmed.
The boat moved on smoothly. At last we reached our
destination. We got down from the boat and walked to my sister’s house. My
sister and her husband received us cordially.
The journey was really a pleasant one. We enjoyed
it very much. The pleasant memory of this journey still hunts me in my leisure
time.
