Deforestation
Deforestation
means cutting down trees or destruction of trees at random that endangers our
life. There are many factors behind this destruction. Our population, mainly
responsible for this destruction. Our population excessive pressure on land and
our carelessness are mainly responsible for this destruction. The population is
increasing at a high rate and this additional population requires more land for
settlement and agricultural cultivation. So, with the increase of population infrastructural
facilities are getting increased. There are more roads, bridges, educational
institutions, hospitals and many other institutions to serve innumerable
purposes. The result is that land areas are decreasing and land for trees and
forests are getting decreasing day by day. People are also destroying trees for
cooking food, making brick, melting pitches etc. But deforestation causes
increase of carbon dioxide, global warming and ecological imbalance. As a
result, there are natural disasters including flood, cyclone, tidal surge, sea
level rises etc. All these badly affect wildlife. In, fact, deforestation is a
threat to our existence.
