Introduction : A village market is the meeting place of a lot of people. The place where the village people gather to buy and sell their necessary commodities is called  a village market.

When sits : A village market is an important place for the villagers. It usually sits in the morning and closes before noon. A hat sits twice a week in the afternoon and breaks up in the evening twice a week.

Where sits : Generally a village market sits under a big banyan tree or in open places. It often sites by a canal or by the side of a river.

Shops : In a village market we find two kinds of shops. One is temporary and the other is permanent. Different types of articles are found in the village market. There are shops of grocery, cloth and sweet-meats. The temporary shopkeepers sit in a row to sell their goods. The permanent shopkeepers sit in their own shops.

Importance : A village market is very important for the village people. Here, they buy and sell various foods and necessary goods. They meet their friends and other people here. They exchange their news and views with one another. They also talk about village politics and other matters.

Conclusion : A village market is the backbone of the rural economy. Its importance cannot be ignored. We should look into its proper management. So necessary steps should be taken to improve village market.
